It's pretty ironic and tragic how our priorities every once in while back-fire. A lot of parents I know will work from dawn till dusk every day to provide the best future for their children, yet by doing this they may be harming their children more than helping them. You see, financial security is important, but it isn't the most significant factor in a child's development. Children need constant interaction, both with other children and their parents. This is, after all, how they learn and develop in the early years of their lives - some-thing that will affect them for the rest of their days. The first time I purchased my children audio books on cd was when I was going on a business trip for a few weeks. I had been reading to my daughter from the same book every night for a week or two, and we were about halfway done with it. She was very sad to see me go, and I knew that she would really miss that story. On a whim, I went to the neighborhood audiobook store and discovered that I could get a copy of it. At first, she was just a bit nervous about listening to the children audio book. She explained to me that she wanted to hear me reading it, not some tape recorder. Nevertheless, when she figured out that I was not going to stay it does not matter how much she begged and pleaded, she relented and decided to listen to the children audio books.

She actually really enjoyed it. I like to think that she still likes the way I read more than she likes children books on cd, but I bet it's a close-call. The children audio book readers are excellent. My diction is not bad, and I'm a pretty dramatic reader, but these are real trained actors. Your average run of the mill father just simply can't compete! They know precisely how to read children books to make them exciting and engaging, keeping your children on the edge til the very last page. Even though my little girl is still unhappy when I leave town, the children books on tape make my trip a little bit easier on her. Both of us are very happy about that.
